Just like an elixir is believed to cure all ills and give eternal life, so too can your inner-child creative spirit help you to heal and grow.
There was never any doubt in my mind.
From as young as 4 years of age, I knew what I wanted to be when I grew upβ¦
I would line my teddies up one by one in front of my small chalk board, and attempt to teach them their ABC's and 123's.

I even tried it on my younger brother but that lasted all of a minute, before he ran away screaming, 'I can't like this!" π
I certainly didn't get the response from my 'students' that I desired.
But it didn't matter.
Each and every time I 'played school', it sparked something inside me that I just could not ignore.
Sheer joy.

What I felt in those moments let me tune out the worries, and tune in the novel ideas, even if those ideas involved what toy to play with next.
This wonderful thing I call inner-child joy.
I find it amazing that over the last half century, this inner-child joy of mine is what inspired me to become a teacher and has kept me teaching to today!
Granted. Not the ABC's or to my teddies! π
But teaching nonetheless.
Believe it or not, as an adult you still have that inner-child joy, a part of yourself that holds the memories, emotions and desires from your childhood.
It's your sense of innocence, vulnerability and creativity.
That influences how you feel and behave as an adult.

And it can be to your benefit βΊοΈ,
β¦when you can recognise and address any unresolved blocks from your childhood.
Because that's when you heal and grow.
And recover your innate creative spirit.
Do you feel you've lost your creativity?
You could be letting negative childhood experiences block your creativity.
Or unable to connect with your positive 'childlike' sense of emotions or interests.
Now before you go thinking there's something majorly wrong with you, there isn't.
This is a phenomenon that affects so many of us, at one point or another in our lifetime.
I know it affects me, when I allow life to get in the way of connecting with my creative spirit.

It could be that you suffer from:
βͺοΈ A fear of failure
βͺοΈ Perfectionism
βͺοΈ A Lack of inspiration
βͺοΈ Emotional blocks
βͺοΈ Self-doubt
βͺοΈ Societal pressure, to name a few.
While I won't be going into each of these now, I will be addressing them over the course of future blog posts, so stay tuned.
For my purposes today, however, I hope to show you how connecting with your inner child again, can open the door to greater creativity and self-expression.
When you connect with your inner child again, beautiful things happen.
π¨ Your inner child is unafraid to take risks and dying to try new things again.
π¨ It wants you to channel your energy into a passion or project of yours.
π¨ It desires to play and have fun with new creative endeavours, and leave the pressure and expectation behind.
It's crying out to you to unleash it!
Do something you wouldn't usually do and start with something small.
I have just the little project to help you rediscover your creativity and enthusiasm for creatingβ¦
Hop on over HERE to my Youtube channel, where I have a free project I know you'll enjoy.

But before I go, I wish to leave you with this one last thought:
Itβs never too late to give your inner child the attention it needs,
and unlock the endless possibilities of your creativity so that you may
boldly live a more fulfilling life.
